i recently read one of the most recent hyped books in YA and guess what, it’s actually worth the HYPE!

i enjoyed it so much it was fresh and fun and great! easy to read, fast paced sci-fi YA this books is definitely is going to be on my favorite books of 2017.

this is the first time i read a book by marie lu and well i wasn’t disappointed.

NON- SPOILERS REVIEW: 

 

the book was great, fast paced but it wasn’t too overwhelming, i liked the concept i’ve never read any books featuring video games or virtual reality and marie described the world very exceptionally the set up was good it was one of the things i liked about this book it really made me want to be in futuristic tokyo or jus in tokyo for that matter! also i really wanted to be a hacker!!.

the characters were well written as well emika had a really hard life and you can see how it reflected on her actions as well as hideo. the other characters had depth even though there wasn’t that of much of interaction between them and the plot but hopefully they will be more involved in the sequel.

the writing was good it wasn’t very unique to me but it wasn’t that bad it definitely helped with the pacing of the plot.

there were some cliches of course, i’ve seen these cliches in a lot of k-dramas but there weren’t eye-rolling bad at all!

finally marie did well with the writing diverse characters i just hoped that gathering characters from all around the world there would be an ARAB or middle eastern among them we live in the same planet as you do… there was only one mentioning of middle eastern turkish character once and that’s all, i just wish when authors write these kinds of stories with characters gathering from all around the world they would include people from that region!

 

 

 

SPOILERS REVIEW …

 

my heart broke when hideo did what he did! he did it because he thought he was doing the right thing and he didn’t use violence or anything and he did it because of his past!! that’s why my heart did break because controlling the people’s mind is still very wrong!

the romance wasn’t really that great it started of weird i kept thinking that she only liked him as a celebrity not as person put i came around later…

i knew zero was his brother i did see it coming but what i didn’t see was hideo doing what he did!!!

like i said after these events the side characters will be more involved which i really can’t wait for i want more of ASH and the rest of the team. there were a lot of unanswered questions which somehow have my expectations high for the sequel and for good answers.
