SYNOPSIS :

Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.

And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.

Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

this one is so hyped up you either love it or hate it!. i certainly enjoyed it.

one of the most great things in this book is the world of faerie holly created. the faeries are so vicious, manipulative, twisted. they were so elegant and enticing. i was almost nearly shouting to the protagonist not to trust that faerie!.

the faeries live near the humans in our present time. so it’s kind of urban fantasy setting.

jude and her sisters live with the faeries who killed her parents  after their murder. and in doing so she grows comfortable and loving with those who killed her parents. (like i said twisted!). after growing up among the faeries and being bullied you can’t expect her to miss good! and that was another thing  i loved about this book how they were morally grey the faeries are in no way good so it was interesting to see jude becoming more cunning to survive.

i’m excited to see who the relationships will grow in the next books! i mean from everything mentioned you can expect that the relationships won’t be perfect at all! reading  a YA book with twisted relationship like the one jude is having with her parents murderer and treading him in a fatherly way yet admitimg that it isn’t right and promoting it to be so, is great!

the development of the protagonist and some of the side characters was good. though some important side characters didn’t have that good development as well i think it’s because their role in the second book will be bigger!? i wasn’t mad at that though.

the writing was good it wasn’t the best i’ve read though and i found myself in very few moments to be bored! few moments though

the unexpected plot twists, the side characters made the book even more awesome!
