HII
so a while ago i was checking my TBR on Goodreads, i noticed a lot of books that i’m not that hyped about anymore. some of which had mixed reviews, while others i’m not interested in reading because they’re from a genre i’m not that excited to read from regularly.
1- IT ENDS WITH US, UGLY LOVE, NOVEMBER 9
some people on book tube really love Coleen hoover’s books, and that what got me into adding them in my TBR at the moment. but now, well i’m not that big fan of contemporary. i’ve seen these books numerous times in the book store and i wasn’t interested in picking them up.
2- ZENTH
sasha’s channel on youtube was one of the reason i got into YA!! so you imagine my excitement when i discovered she’s going to co-write a book! unfortunately when it was out the reviews weren’t that great (or at least the ones i read).
3-CARAVAL
same here, the mixed reviews about this book made me think twice before i purchase it. i know a lot of people say it’s like the night circus, while others say it’s in no way as good as the night circus. and as much as i love the night circus i’m not that interested in reading this book in the near future. and i’ve i ever decide to read it it won’t be because i think it will be like the night circus in any way!!
4-TRUTHWICTH
i was so excited about this book! but when the next books came out i heard\read more mixed reviews about them which made me less enthusiastic about reading this series.
5-OUTLANDER
i wanted to pick up this so bad and i nearly did. but then i read a review where mainly this book to the blogger was sex and less history which made me rethink my decision. i know a lot of people love this series and i watched the first season of the TV show and i really really loved it, which was why i decided to read the books, but unfortunately the second season wasn’t that great to me and this is another reason why i wasn’t interested in reading the series. because the books are big and if i didn’t enjoy the TV show i don’t know if i’ll enjoy long slow paced books.
6- SABRIEL
there’s isn’t an actual reason why i’m not interested in this book anymore. maybe i’ll read it sometime in the future.
I thought Caraval was very average. It had a cool premise, but I wasn’t a huge fan of any of the characters!

i remember someone saying the same. which proves my point of not being interested in it

I would definitely pass on Caraval, for the exact same reasons Kelly says! It’s nothing like the Night Circus, in my opinion, and not really worth reading if you’re not interested

exactly! i think comparing it to the night circus leaves people with high expectations and this book won’t reach to them.

I took Caraval off my list, too. After reading several reviews I lost interest. Lots of people told me it was like The Night Circus, which I wasn’t a huge fan of. Either way, I feel like I need to pass.

same! i’m not a huge fan of the circus thing genre, but the night circus was an exception. although i don’t feel like this would be an exception in any means

I took Caravel off of my TBR list too. Way too many of my friends were giving it average reviews. I’ve also read Outlander, and I can vouch that there’s pretty much a sex scene every 20 pages once Claire meets Jamie. The books definitely pale in comparison to the TV show imo.

a lot of readers seemed to take it off their TBR as well which doesn’t make me regret taking it off mine!

Yeah I’ve been put off by the reviews of Zenith too, although I don’t know the author to be fair. Honestly, I wasn’t into Caraval, so good call there.
