I think most books that feature road trips are contemporary. I read mostly fantasy and though some books feature road trips, I don’t think they can be included in this list, right?!

1- PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS 

let’s start with the most obvious. these kids never stay put in one place! they journey to different states, and mythical places all the time to defeat monsters. which is so much fun!!

 

 

2- EVERYTHING EVERYTHING 

this is the only contemporary I have for this list. the characters take a lovely trip to Hawaii. it was fun and adorable.

 

 

3- AN ENCHANTMENT OF RAVENS

 

remember when I said there were some fantasy books that feature road trips? well, I think this one certainly fit the category. yes, it has a very autumn vibe. but the characters go on a trip to different faerie courts ( spring, autumn, etc). the descriptive writing was very intriguing.

 

 

4- THE LUNAR CHRONICLES 

after the first book, the characters go to different places to reach their goal. they go to the desert, France, even the MOON!
