HII
I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything , and I know I’m not that active on insta too, but the college has been taking all my time recently. I mean I’ve only finished one book!! plus, i’ve been binge watching one piece…
I’ve finally started this series!!! after I watched the trailer of the movie, I really wanted to read the book before I watched it ( it looks so fluffy!!) even though I’m not a contemporary fan, I’m glad I read this book!
name: to all the boys I’ve loved before-1
author: Jenny Han
genre: YA contemporary
pages: 355
publishing date: April 15th 2014
publisher: simon and schuster
synopsis:
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister’s ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all
ahhh where should I start! I enjoyed this book just as much as I hoped I would, and I’m desperately waiting the chance to be able to buy the next book! so you can probably understand if this review wasn’t as coherent as a normal review!
this book has the effect of reading it nonstop. I finished more than half the book in one setting! the writing was just perfect for this type of book.
the characters were the greatest thing in this book ( like most of usual contemporaries I think) the author had them be the right amount of everything. confident and cocky but not too cocky, shy and a bit insecure but not too insecure. all the characters felt normal and well written. I loved Lara jean and her family.
there were some chapters that just weren’t as necessary. I understand that not a lot of action is going to happen, and there are ordinary things that will happen in contemporary that aren’t at all interesting, but I just wanted more of certain characters interactions, or at least more things happening.
all in all, this book was fluffy and adorable. the plot seemed interesting and enjoyable and it was. now I really want to bake a lot of cookies and chocolate cake and read the sequel….
Lovely review! I still need to read this one, since I watched and loved the movie! 🤗
