TOP 10 FAVORITE BOOKS OF 2018

it’s that time of year! my favorite posts to read and write are yearly favorites!

I haven’t reached my goodreads goal in the past year due to the ugliest reading slump I’ve ever had!! so it was kinda of hard to name 10 favorite books of the year. not because I can’t narrow it down to 10, but because there aren’t really many books to do so!

1- RED RISING TRILOGY

I know it’s a saga, but well I’ve only read the first three books and absolutely loved them!! I didn’t at all expect to love these books! I’m not a big fan of sci-fi and the synopsis sounds kinda ordinary, but the trilogy was absolutely not! let me tell you that these books worth the hype.

2-  THE WAY OF KINGS AND WORDS OF RADIANCE 

I know I said 10 books. but what I meant was counting a books in the same series as one..again, these books blew me away. they completely lived up to the hype. an intriguing, complex fantasy series by Sanderson is all you need in your live.

3- THE CRUEL PRINCE 

this was my first read by Holly Black, and it took me by surprise. I loved Holly’s Faeries, her world building, and the messed up characters! I can’t wait to read the sequel!

4- BATTLE OF THE LABYRINTH 

it feels like I read the Percy Jackson series long ago! the series was a delight! it was fun, informative, with great characters. but my favorite book would be the battle of the labyrinth. I just love how the characters grow through out this series.

 

 

 

5- POISON STUDY 

I did not expect to obsess over this book the way I did. which was why this book is on this list. it was so unexpectedly good!!. I loved the characters, especially, the main one. I liked the romance and the plot.

6- HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS

I read the first two books of the series so far in 2018. and as much as I enjoyed the first one, the second one is by far my favorite. I enjoyed how we get to know the villain more. of course, the world building and the characters were incredible.

 

 

 

7- A COURT OF FROST AND STARLIGHT

 

I know this is only a Novella, But I really enjoyed it! I liked what the author laid out as the foundation for the next series. it was a fun, short, chill out Novella with a bit of a heartache…

 

 

 

8- TO ALL THE BOYS I LOVE BEFORE

 

this book wasn’t action packed, or full of twists with complex world building like my usual read. it was fun, light, refreshing read with adorable characters which I really loved.

9- GEMINA 

like I said earlier sci-fi isn’t really my genre. but reading the illuminae files so far had been fun. Gemina was action packed, with twists that blew my mind, and a nice cast of characters. I recommend you read these books if you haven’t already.

10- STALKING JACK THE RIPPER 

I read the first book in this trilogy in 2018 as well, but I enjoyed the second one way more. I liked the story in this one more, the characters had more depth, and the setting was intriguing.
