FEBRUARY WRAP UP ( where I DNF’d a very hyped book! )

Hii

It’s been some time now I know. Honestly, those who post everyday in spite of everything life throws at them are MASTERS! Respects to you all.

Unfortunately, in February I haven’t read much. And well I blame a very hyped book for that. I spent the first 10 days of the month trying to finish the book, until I couldn’t take it any more and DNF’d it!

Without further ado here’s my Wrap up and my thoughts:

1- CHILDREN OF BLOOD AND BONE

DNF’d

Unfortunately, this book did not live up to the hype for me. I truly, truly, TRULY, wanted to love it!! I don’t like it when I don’t love a hyped book :(. I loved that it was inspired by African culture. And that’s about it. That’s all I liked. I couldn’t get attached to anything else. It was predictable, the characters felt flat, and I couldn’t press myself further to finish it.

2- THE DARKEST MINDS

When I first started reading it, I felt a very similar vibe to shatter me. I didn’t like that I felt that way. But further into the book I started to like it more. The characters grew on me. They’re this adorable mismatched type of characters that I can’t wait to read about them. The plot was similar to every YA dystopian book I’ve read so far. It was enjoyable but not incredible. The characters were my favorite part.

3- THE WINNER’S CURSE

This was a re-read for me. I loved this trilogy when I first read it. So, when my shipment was a little late and I feared of getting myself into another reading slump after COBAB I decided to read an old favorite ( plus, I had to re-read this trilogy in 2019!) can I say that I fell in even more with this trilogy the other time around!? Especially, Arin! He’s just so underrated! Why aren’t we mentioning him more like Rhys or Kaz?! He deserves all the love we can give him!!

2- THE WINNER’S CRIME

This trilogy is filled with so much angst! It was so beautiful! Arin and Kestrel are just.. ughh..

How was your reading in February?
