hello guys how are you feeling
so at last i read the name of the wind book 1 in the kingkiller chronicles
i’m sure you all know the hype about this book you can’t avoid it if you like fantasy. i did enjoy it but i expected more from it. in this review i’ll do my best to explain my thoughts about this book.

spoilers free review :
the writing is brilliant and rich and when kvothe tells the story in his perspective the writing grows more sincere, the world building is great and rich and well written it was confusing at first though but it gets clearer as the story continues.
i love magical schools in fantasy the university setting in this book did not disappoint it was ancient and magical and really enjoyable there wasn’t that much of an exploration of the university but it was perfectly written.
the characters had depth and were really enjoyable specially bast and sim and will and the masters!! . a lot of people did not enjoy this book because it was mostly told in kvothes’ POV and they felt he was glorifying himself that much which he was but it didn’t bother me that much i knew the book was narrated by unreliable narrater.
the reason it wasn’t 5 stars for me is because i expected more action and more magic which is funny because kvothe mentioned at first that it isn’t a hero kills the monster type of story but well from all the hype i expected it to be more action packed but overall it was great coming of age story.

the amyr and the chandrian and the whole killing thing was really interesting like i said i wanted action and they add a lot of mystery and awesomeness to the story specially what happened at the farm i really want to know what they dug up .
i liked kvothe’s relationships with devi and auri and fela i can’t quite understand his with denna i mean he has a thing for her and he isn’t pushing the matters with her which i quite like but sometimes he seems distracted by other women needless to say denna is quite the woman and i enjoy their time together.
bast though seems like the right friend to have when he threatened the chronicler at the end i shivered he seemed like the nice obedient student but he seemed to have more depth which is really interesting .
